The European Regulators Group for Audiovisual Media Services held its third meeting on 14 April 2015, in Paris.
At the initiative of the French Presidency, ERGA adopted a joint statement on freedom of expression (FR). In the aftermath of the deadly attacks that struck France and Denmark, the European regulators for audiovisual media services, gathered within ERGA, wished to reaffirm the importance of freedom of expression and their unwavering and united support to the defence of this fundamental right. During this meeting, ERGA Members also adopted a scoping paper on territorial jurisdiction in a convergent audiovisual world. (see the minutes of the 3rd plenary meeting)
The European Regulators Group for Audiovisual Media Services brings together heads or high level representatives of national independent regulatory bodies in the field of audiovisual services, to advise the Commission on the implementation of the EU’s Audiovisual Media Services Directive (AVMSD).
