The European Regulators Group for Audiovisual Media Services held its fifth meeting on 2 march 2016, in Amsterdam.
During the meeting, ERGA agreed on the remit of three new ERGA sub-groups, envisaged in ERGA Work Programme for 2016. The first group will deal with the implementation aspects of the review of the AVMS Directive. The second group will focus on future-proof European audiovisual regulation in particular on the protection of minors and accessibility. The third group is responsible for the creation of a Digital European Toolkit for national regulators. The group also discussed the future deliverables of the sub-group on territorial jurisdiction. The afternoon part was devoted to the independence of media and recent developments in some Member States. ERGA also discussed the possible improvements to its Rules of Procedure.
